So today's escapades included lots more shopping than studying, but I think it was rather appropriate and productive considering it is my really close friend Jenn's birthday tomorrow! So I talked her into a few cute dress buys and bought her a little something she really wanted.

One of my favorite places in New York City. The Fashion Institute of Technology on Fashion Ave. Upon emerging from the Subway and first setting eyes on this architectural beauty, I knew I was home. This is where I want to go and continue my schooling. Not only does it shove me right into the world of Fashion, but it's one subway ride away from some of my favorite shops, restaurants, people, and parks.

Next To Normal

This is the amazing show my best friend decided to take us to see on our short visit to NYC.


The summary of the play (via wiki): "Next to Normal is a rock musical. Its story concerns a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness has on her family. The musical also addresses such issues as grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life." I have to say I was a little disappointed at first because I had really wanted to see The Lion King or something of the like, but by the end of the first few songs I was absolutely enamored.

Adam Chanler-Berat who plays Henry, the boyfriend.




Jessica Phillips who played Diana, the mother. Alice Ripley had been sick, so Jessica was playing the lead. She was absolutely amazing tho.





We went to the side stage after the door and got our playbills signed and pictures [duh] We missed out on getting pictures with Jennifer Damiano (Natalie, the daughter), Louis Hobson (Dr. Fine/Madden, the doctors), and Dan Berry (who played the father that night instead of J. Robert Spencer). The whole cast was phenomenal and so nice. I was in a fit of tears by the end, along with Victor and Shelby. I could not have asked for a better first Broadway experience (minus the coughing interruption I had several times).

Pocky & An Up-Do

So for the longest time, Pocky has been an all-time obsession of mine. I just consumed a whole box [my bad :-x] but there's still another one thanks to my momma!
Butttt on to the main reason for this post. This lovely up-do! Accomplished courtesy of CupcakesandCashmere and her wonderful tutorial. 10+ bobby pins and some After Party, voila! I actually had a pretty good time trying this out and got some nice compliments in class. It's definitely something I'll be doing more often. It's clean and easy to manage, no hair in the face. Just how I like it.

Kittens!

Well, I am happy to say I am the proud mother of two of the cutest little kittens in the world. This is Sophia [we haz big eyezz] and Christine [we like to sleep].
Sophia is kind of a spaz. She's really jumpy and runs everywhereee. She tries so hard to eat my hand/arm, and has left me more scratches in the past few days than I've had in the past few years. She's more my mothers' cat.
Christine is mine :) I decided I wanted her after we had Sophia for a night, and by Monday, I had my mother sold. She's so precious. She can't really meow so it's this raspy half-meow and she sleeps so well [better than Sophia] She's all around quieter and less aggressive.
They are both rambunctious little tykes, but I'm totally smitten.
